Max Chester

Manager, Production

Max Chester is a seasoned production specialist with over two decades in live event and concert operations, primarily in the nonprofit sector but also as a highly sought-after film festival projectionist and video operator. Growing up in Nashville, Max spent his childhood running around the shared backstage areas of the Grand Ole Opry, TNN, and CMT, where his father worked as a broadcast engineer. These early experiences sparked a lifelong fascination with concert, radio, and TV production technology. His mother nurtured his interest in orchestral percussion and other art forms, deepening his passion for performance and production.

Over his career, Max has produced marquee events for premier cultural institutions and artists, dedicated to delivering seamless experiences that leave lasting impressions on both performers and audiences. He was part of the production team that helped bring the New York Philharmonic back to the newly renovated David Geffen Hall and played a key role in the opening events at the Whitney Museum of American Art’s Susan and John Hess Family Theater.

When he has free time, Max enjoys hiking, traveling by car, art house films, growing orchids, Formula One auto racing (F1), and Grand Prix motorcycle racing (MotoGP).

Max’s playlists often feature Animal Collective, Beach House, Charlotte de Witte, Cinnamon Chasers, Daft Punk, Die Antwoord, Emmylou Harris, Fred again.., Jamie xx, Nicki Minaj, and Yoko Kanno, reflecting his eclectic taste and love for innovative sounds.
